His uncle Laniado, who was disqualified by the Tel Aviv District Court from competing in the Likud primaries, said this morning (Wednesday) that "I know Netanyahu didn't want me."
This is after the chairman of the party called on party members not to support Leniado, in light of his criminal past.
"I did not join either Netanyahu or the Likud party, my decision is a principled one - whether a person who has had some kind of past or entanglement with the law, whether he can compete, be a public servant, or No?
My whole life is dedicated to the public, so I decided that I do deserve it," he said in an interview with 103. "I was easy prey for the media to slander me."
In response to the question "Who are you disturbing?", he replied: "I wish I knew. I think this is a fatal mistake."
He said that the court made a decision "that is disgraceful".
"There is no attack on a police officer, it's someone who throws something and everyone is running after the same thing. A kindergarten teacher, a teacher, a politician, it doesn't matter who, a person is a person, and there is both a legal and a public right. There was a minister until now in the State of Israel who sat in prison and returned, I I don't think it's something that's wrong."
