A spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council (Ma Xiaoguang) stressed that the DPP authorities in Taiwan tried to achieve their political intentions by betraying the interests of the Chinese nation, warning it of receiving more severe blows if it continued to rely on external forces in its separatist endeavors.
"The recent visit to China's Taiwan region by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi showed that it was the DPP authorities who initiated the provocations," Xinhua news agency quoted Guang as saying.
Guang's remarks came in response to the allegations made by the Taiwanese politician (Joseph Wu) about the attempts of the Chinese mainland to change the status quo across the Taiwan Strait by military means.
In this context, Guang said that while the mainland adopted a series of countermeasures, the DPP authorities, instead of considering their own actions, distorted the facts to show themselves as victims and to cover up their nature and behavior of seeking the so-called Taiwan independence.
Guang stressed that the DPP's hoax cannot deceive the Taiwan people and the international community.
