The workshops of the Homs City Council have started the implementation of the final stages of completing the two projects of rehabilitating and repairing Al-Sayyid Al-Raees Street in Al-Waer neighborhood and restoring the remaining part of Damascus Road Street.
Engineer Haider Al-Waari, Director of Works in Homs City Council, said in a statement to SANA reporter that work is currently underway to complete the project of rehabilitating Al-Sayyid Al-Rais Street in Al-Waer neighborhood from Al-Kawakibi Roundabout to Al-Mazraa Roundabout, with a length of approximately 3 km, and a contract value of 400 million Syrian pounds, which includes the rehabilitation of the central island, lighting and restoration of sections. Asphalt pavement on the street, in addition to the completion of the Damascus Street rehabilitation project, with a contract value of 170 million Syrian pounds.
Al-Waari revealed a number of projects that will be implemented during the coming period within the council’s plan, including the construction and establishment of a road in the Al-Basel suburb at a value of 80 million pounds, maintenance of separate streets throughout the city, an automatic laying of 80 million pounds, and laying asphalt shirts in Ikrima neighborhood with a value of 130 million pounds, in addition to implementing Pavement maintenance contract worth 30 million across the city.
Al-Waari indicated that the Lighting Department is currently working on implementing two contracts for the maintenance of lighting poles throughout the city, worth 50 million pounds, in cooperation with the Syrian Network, in addition to a contract worth 15 million pounds, which includes the maintenance of dilapidated and collapsed poles through the completion of the process of rehabilitation and installation, pointing out that in the coming days, two maintenance contracts will be implemented. Lighting in separate streets of the city, at a cost of 50 million pounds.
