In the middle of Munich: Tram crashes into MVV bus – tram derails

There was a collision between a tram and a bus in Schwabing.

The background to the accident is still unclear.

Munich – Moment of shock in Schwabing: A tram collided with an MVV bus on Tuesday, August 9th.

According to the fire department, the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. in the afternoon.

The tram hit the side of the bus and derailed.

The fire brigade goes on to say:

"While the three passengers on the tram remained unharmed, the driver suffered minor injuries.

The 43-year-old was examined by the emergency services and transported to a Munich clinic for further treatment.

The 52-year-old bus driver was not injured but had to be taken care of by a crisis intervention team.

There were no other passengers on the bus.

After the police had documented the scene of the accident, the fire brigade began to rerail.

With the help of the rescue vehicle's cable winch, supported by the muscle power of the fire brigade and the employees of the Munich transport company, the three derailed wagons were put back on the rails. The fire brigade cannot quantify the amount of damage caused.
