The fight against gravel mining in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn continues.

Headwind is now coming from the directly affected neighboring municipality of Hohenbrunn.

A lawsuit is being examined.

Hohenbrunn

– The local council of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn has just grudgingly approved the application for gravel quarrying on the Muna site.

An urban planning contract with all sorts of conditions was negotiated in order to keep the burden on local residents as low as possible.

The risk was simply too high for the municipality to lose any legal action and thus also the fixed agreements.

Hohenbrunn directly affected by gravel mining

But that is not the end of the chapter “Fight against gravel mining”.

Because the neighboring municipality of Hohenbrunn would be directly affected by the gravel quarrying and does not want to give up so easily.

The Hohenbrunn municipal council therefore now unanimously followed the request of the CSU parliamentary group to examine possible legal remedies and a lawsuit against the gravel quarrying on Hohenbrunner Straße in Siegertsbrunn.

The Hohenbrunner Christsozialen asked the municipal council to have all legal means checked by a specialist lawyer.

Access to files and speed limit

The municipal council saw the need, but suggested bringing in a specialist to inspect the files.

He should also check whether a lawsuit can be filed.

In addition, this should develop proposals as to which measures can be taken from Hohenbrunn's point of view in order to minimize the impact of gravel mining.

This could, for example, be a speed reduction along Luitpoldstraße to 30 km/h.

Agree on a transit ban

Hohenbrunn fears that the expected heavy-duty traffic for the excavation and backfilling material will only take place via Siegertsbrunner Straße, Dorfstraße and Luitpoldstraße and will therefore only burden the districts of Hohenbrunn.

A corresponding regulation with a ban on the passage of transport vehicles through the local area of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn is to be agreed in an urban development contract between the municipality of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn and the applicant.

Commercial establishments polluted by dust

In addition, the people of Hohenbrunn fear that the adjacent commercial area will be heavily polluted by the dust from the gravel pit, which could lead to high costs for technical upgrades and increasing operating, maintenance and servicing costs for the affected companies.

The municipality expects at least 216 truck trips per week, most of which, according to concern, will be at the expense of Hohenbrunn.

According to Mayor Stefan Straßmair (CSU), the costs for the specialist should be in the five-digit range.
