According to the MPFA, according to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, employers are responsible for enrolling each employee in the MPF scheme on time and making regular contributions in accordance with the law.

MPFA has recovered 382,000 contributions

As for the case of Lin Heung Restaurant Group, the MPFA received a report from the MPF trustee as early as March 2021 about the non-compliance of the employer of Lin Heung House to the MPF.

The bureau immediately intervened and followed up, and successfully recovered 9 instalments of MPF arrears of $382,000 from February to July and October to December 2021 for 47 employees.

The follow-up work is still in progress. The MPFA is continuing to recover outstanding arrears for about 40 employees, including about 200,000 for August to September 2021 and January to February 2022 Group arrears, filing a civil claim, and preparing a civil claim for arrears involving about 180,000 groups from March to July 2022.
