It goes without saying that American democracy attracts more sympathy than the authoritarian regimes of China or Russia.
Chinese communism, albeit less murderous than in the time of Mao, remains a foil for the vast majority of Europeans, as for Putin, who despises us because he judges us in full decadence, it is clear that he hardly arouses the admiration of a press which treats him continuously as a dictator, when it does not compare him to Hitler or Stalin, which is historically absurd, but popular in the media.
Does this justify the desire of Americans to once again pose as policemen of the planet, as undisputed leaders of the “free world” as urbi et orbi Nancy Pelosi wanted to make known through her stay in Taiwan?
Allow me to doubt it and this for two reasons that those enthusiastic about this visit seem to forget a little quickly: firstly because it will have no other effect than to throw China into the arms of Putin at the worst time, then...
