The director of the branch of the General Organization for Feed in Daraa, Eng. Firas Al-Shara, confirmed that the branch distributes feed to livestock in a sequence within fodder cycles opened through the central administration, indicating that the amount of different feed sold to breeders of different types of livestock from the beginning of this year to date amounted to about 17,439 tons.
Al-Sharaa said in a statement to SANA reporter that the branch sold through its two centers in Izraa and Al-Sanamayn an amount of 8,881 tons of bran and 52 tons of fodder barley, in addition to selling 3,045 tons of corn, 3,569 tons of capsule, 1,714 tons of soybean meal and 178 tons of groats, indicating that sales to breeders are carried out in accordance with Statistical tables prepared by the Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform with specific quantities per head and according to types of livestock.
For their part, livestock breeders in Daraa called for securing various types of fodder for livestock and increasing the allocations of the rationed fodder distributed within the fodder cycles opened by the General Foundation for Feed in a way that reduces the costs of breeding and reflects positively on the provision of animal products and the reduction of their prices in the local markets, stressing that the high prices of feed are within The state centers have added new burdens to breeders, especially in light of the continuation of the drought years, the drop in rainfall and the decline in the area of pastures in most areas of Daraa Governorate.
Breeder Sami al-Bakhit told SANA that the fodder, despite the recent increase in its price in state centers, is acceptable compared to the prices on the black market, indicating that some prices of fodder materials are less than 200 thousand pounds than the market price per ton.
