A car for company trips, club outings or moving: Since Tuesday, the municipality of Herrsching, in cooperation with the company Mikar, has been offering citizens and visitors a minibus for rent.
Cost: 49.90 euros per day.
Herrsching – A jaunt with up to nine people: This will be easy and uncomplicated in Herrsching in the future.
On Tuesday morning, the municipality, together with its cooperation partner, the company Mikar GmbH & Co. KG, presented the new carsharing model and inaugurated the Renault Master, which will be available for rent at Autohaus Czasny on Gewerbestraße for the next four years.
"This is really a great opportunity for Herrschinger, but also for people who only come to visit to explore the area," said Herrsching's mayor Christian Schiller at the official car handover.
Some time ago, Mikar introduced the new form of mobility to the municipal council.
According to Schiller, the members were immediately enthusiastic.
"Last week the car arrived at our place," said the mayor.
The company from Plattling has so far stationed rental cars at around 190 locations throughout Germany.
The special feature: The local tradespeople are involved and ensure that the costs for car sharing are comparatively low.
“I presented the project to various entrepreneurs in Herrsching.
Since the municipality wrote a letter of recommendation, many companies have placed their trust in us.” A total of 27 companies from the real estate, retail and catering sectors, as well as the municipality, are supporting the campaign with a donation – their logo is on the outside of the new minibus for this purpose appropriate.

Autohaus Czasny has agreed to provide a parking space for the car and to take care of maintenance, cleaning and any repairs that may be required.
“For me there was no discussion at all.
I want to do something for the town of Herrsching and I'm very active in club life myself," said Franz Czasny.
He could also imagine renting the bus himself for a company outing or a trip with the family.
According to Mikar's Tobias Baumgartner, some organizations and clubs have already asked about car sharing.
"It really isn't difficult," said Baumgartner.
The only requirement: a working smartphone.
The Mikar application is required for rental.
The hour or the day on which the customer wants to use the car can be booked.
The car can also be opened with a cell phone.
According to Baumgartner, the costs are well below the prices of conventional car rental companies.
Mikar charges 49.90 euros per day and 5.90 euros per hour.
300 kilometers are included per booking, each additional kilometer costs eleven cents.
“The offer has been very well received at the previous car-sharing stations.
We hope the same for Herrsching,” said Baumgartner.
