Olympiapark closed due to overcrowding: police warn Munich – "Please don't drive anymore"

The European Championships 2022 are currently celebrating their opening in the Munich Olympic Park - apparently with such a great response that it is now getting too crowded.

Munich – The official opening of the European Championships 2022 in the Munich Olympic Park has been running since 6.30 p.m.

And the organizers didn't skimp on the program.

At around 7.30 p.m., three alphorns got the party started for an evening bursting with stars.

The rapper Materia has just finished his performance as the main act.

The Munich brass band Moop Mama, among others, will also be playing - all of this can be experienced free of charge in the Olympiapark.

The rush on Wednesday evening was correspondingly large.

The Munich police are asking everyone in Munich to stop coming via Twitter.

The police wrote verbatim via Twitter: “The Olympic Park is closed due to overcrowding.

Please refrain from further arrival.

The events in the park can still be visited until August 21, 2022.”

The organizer himself also writes on his live blog.

We strongly advise against an arrival.
