It is difficult to find a word whose gap between its frequency of use and its hidden meaning is greater than the word "statehood".
Ambiguity surrounds her, yet the members of the outgoing coalition mention her at every moment and available space.
They swear by her name, declare that they belong to her, use her as a bait for an election campaign, and especially attack the right-wing camp for the state disability it suffers from.
This week, with the close of the successful battles, statehood came out of the usual fog and revealed itself to bite the knights of statehood in their buttocks, to prove the words of Meir Ariel "A man shouts what he lacks": Lapid and his partners lack statehood.
They are, in fact, overdrafted and bankrupt in the account of state behavior.

First and foremost is of course Yair Lapid, the leader of the opposition who held the mandate to form a government, but this did not prevent him from wondering how "the fire breaks out at a convenient time for the prime minister", and more than hints that Netanyahu initiated the war for political reasons.
He was joined by Avigdor Lieberman, who claimed that Netanyahu is a "collaborator of Hamas" who is only acting because the mandate is in Lapid's hands. Those who excelled in their silence in the face of this abomination were Naftali Bennett and his deputy at the time, Ayelet Shaked. Simply put, the members of the opposition at the time spread in Israel and the world a plot according to which the Israeli prime minister was killing civilians and children in Gaza for political reasons and to escape his trial. An argument that many anti-Semites , and of course Hamas and its aides also rushed to make use of it.
Hatred spoiled the line for Lapid, Michaeli, Lieberman and the like, destroyed statehood, but worse than that - undermined the Israeli war effort.
What should a soldier from the left bloc think who hears from his head while he is being sent to his own devices, because the great and corrupt demon wants to preserve his power?
What should an American citizen or a European diplomat think?
The conduct of the opposition in the current operation tore the state mask off the skinned faces of the current heads of state, proved who was truly state and who was anti-state, until their loathing of the Israeli Prime Minister conducting a military operation overcame his love for the State of Israel.
