A dream of half-timbered houses: That's why the top 3 are so worth seeing
The result: Celle in Lower Saxony is a top travel destination for a trip with the 9-euro ticket.
In combination with a median overnight price of 93 euros in July, it is also one of the cheapest.
The old town is particularly worth seeing with its around 500 half-timbered houses, the oldest of which dates back to the 14th century.
The city can be reached from Hanover in about half an hour by regional transport.

The city of Bietigheim-Bissingen in Baden-Württemberg follows in the ranking.
This is also characterized by its historic old town with half-timbered houses, while Celtic, Roman and Alemannic influences are also noticeable.
If you want to visit the city, the best way to get there is from Stuttgart – the journey only takes a quarter of an hour.
An overnight stay in July cost a median of 97 euros per night.
The town of Idstein in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse secured third place.
Here visitors can also be enchanted by a picturesque old town with colorful half-timbered houses.
Climbing the witch tower also provides a great view.
Idstein can be reached from the nearest city of Frankfurt in just over half an hour.
