Snake found in Wolfratshausen - police on duty
The call to the police came in the early evening: A Wolfratshauser had found a snake in a box tree in his garden.
The 40 centimeter long animal had made itself comfortable there in a blackbird nest.
Whether she was waiting there for a flying meal or just seeking a break from the sun in the shady tree, I couldn't tell.

An officer from the Wolfratshausen police forcefully attacked and caught the snake.
It turned out to be a grass snake - an extremely harmless garden guest for humans.
The animal was released a few kilometers from where it was found, as Deputy Head of Department Christina Loy reports.
Grass Snakes: Peaceful animals - no danger to humans
According to the German Nature Conservation Union, grass snakes are considered “peaceful” animals.
On the NABU website it says: "The graceful grass snakes are completely harmless to humans".
Even when looking for a partner, the animals behave peacefully - "fights or biting between the rivals do not occur." Grass snakes can be recognized by the yellow, crescent-shaped markings on the back of their heads.
