The weather forecast for Thursday August 11: the heat wave extends towards the Paris basin

90% of the French territory is still affected by high temperatures this Thursday with extreme risks of fire in the West and temperatures which can rise up to 39°C.


The heat wave is spreading between the South-West and the Val-de-Loire as well as in the Paris basin, while the rest of the country is facing strong heat according to

The north wind present in the South-West increases the risk of fire starting in the region.

A few storms can break out between the Southern Alps and the Corsican Mountain.

25 departments are on heat wave orange alert in the South-West.

New Aquitaine

, via the

Pays de la Loire

, the sun shines from morning to evening with very strong generalized heat.

A light wind around 25 to 30 km/h between Brittany and the Charentes increases the risk of fire starting.

The minimum temperatures are on average between 17 and 22°C and the maximum 30 to 39°C.

Crushing heat is raging in

Centre-Val de Loire

in

Hauts-de-France

,

Normandy

and

Île-de-France.

The maximum temperatures are between 30 and 34°C.

A very sunny and very hot day is expected in

Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

and in the

Grand Est

.

The very mild night gave way to temperatures which rose rapidly in the afternoon.

The minimum temperatures are 15 to 20°C and the maximum 30 to 34°C.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

to

Corsica

PACA

, good weather prevails despite some risk of thunderstorms between Mercantour and the Corsican Mountain.

The Rhône valley is marked by strong heat while the southerly wind tempers on the coast.

The maximum temperatures are between 29 and 37°C.

In

Occitania

, the furnace continues with nevertheless a sea wind which limits the temperatures of the afternoon.

Maximums can reach 39°C from the Languedoc coast to the Toulouse south.
