The French authorities announced the outbreak of fires again in the Gironde in the southwest of the country, which witnessed a huge fire last July, which necessitated the evacuation of large areas after the fires destroyed 6 thousand hectares of pine forests.

And local media quoted the authorities as saying in a statement that about 3,800 people were evacuated from the areas of Houston, Saint Magen and Belen-Bellier in the heart of the forests of Land de Gasconio, south of the Atlantic coast, after the fire raged severely and spread to Land County in the south.

The fire destroyed 16 homes in several districts of Beilin-Pelée county, as evictions continued.

About 500 firefighters were involved in putting out the fires as the flames headed toward the A63 motorway southwest towards Bayonne-Bordeaux.

In mid-July, Gironde witnessed two fires, one in Llanderas, 40 kilometers south of Bordeaux, and the second in Testie-du-Buc in the Arcachon tourist basin, destroying 20,800 hectares of forest and forcing the authorities to evacuate more than 36,000 people.
