Tobias D. has been missing since Friday evening.

He was last seen at the Brass Wiesn in Eching.

The police continue the large-scale search.

Eching

– Where is Tobias D.?

Even on the fourth day after his disappearance from the Brass Wiesn in Eching, there has been no sign of life from the 25-year-old.

A large-scale police operation took place in Eching on Tuesday to find the young man from Eichenried in the municipality of Moosinning (district of Erding).

The starting point and focus of the search for missing persons was the immediate Brass Wiesn festival area.

D. was last seen at the campsite there around 11 p.m. before the area had to be cleared due to a storm.

Since then there has been no trace of him.

Where is Tobias?

“Today we search until we are exhausted”

"We turn every stone, look under every tarpaulin and every tent and today we're looking until we're exhausted," says police spokesman Andreas Aichele from the Oberbayern Nord police headquarters in Ingolstadt, describing the strategy and route for the operation on Tuesday.

Using an action plan from the site, he explained the procedure to the numerous media representatives present in the morning and patiently answered the questions.

Among others, recording teams from Bayrischer Rundfunk, ARD, Bild, Radio Gong, SAT1 and RTL were on site.

Numerous police forces combed the festival site in Eching on Tuesday.

Alexander Wolff, organizer of the Brass Wiesn, where up to 20,000 people celebrated with beer and brass band music over the weekend, was also present at the beginning of the search operation.

He was visibly shocked: "We are totally appalled.

Everything that has to do with our festival is completely secondary.”

Search for Tobias: Helicopter with thermal imaging camera in use

"The search is in full swing," said Aichele into the microphones of the press representatives.

The site and the surrounding area were flown over several times with drones and helicopters with thermal imaging cameras, and not just on Tuesday night.

But these actions have not been crowned with success so far.

"You can't see everything from above," explained Aichele.

That's why they decided to search the area again.

A total of 70 emergency services from Nuremberg and Ingolstadt were involved in the close-meshed, structured and meticulous measure on Tuesday.

Around 20 police officers combed the - still - untidy camping site, "on which it looks like a tornado," says Aichele.

Another squad roamed the green spaces on and in the TSV grounds and the parking lot area at Echinger See.

The search was also extended to the adjacent overgrown areas, especially the wooded areas to the south and east of the festival site.

"We're following up on a large number of leads," reports Aichele.

However, so far there has not been a hot lead.

Nevertheless, Aichele assesses the chances of success as good.

"Our great hope is that we will find him today - alive." If the search should remain unsuccessful, we will of course continue tomorrow - with a new strategy.

A private search operation runs parallel to the police operation

Parallel to the police's structured search for missing persons, there is also a private search operation organized by the missing person's girlfriend, friends and acquaintances.

Hundreds of committed volunteers have been involved since Monday evening, many of them from Eching.

Many young people, not only from Tobias D.'s circle of friends, feel a great need to actively help with the search to do something.

There are also flyers and calls on Instagram and Facebook with photos of Tobias and the circumstances of his disappearance, which have been shared thousands of times so far.

On Sunday and during Monday, the searchers concentrated on the local area of Eching and from there towards Eichenried.

On Monday evening, the meeting point moved from the Echinger Maibaum to the parking lot at Echinger See.

The search continued as early as 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

The meeting point for the volunteers this time was the Hollerner See car park.

"Thanks to everyone for the incredible help," his girlfriend had posted - and a request: "Please keep your eyes open."

Information on the whereabouts of Tobias to the police

Such a swarm search, in which everyone looks closely, could be a useful addition, says police spokesman Aichele.

Above all, it is important that all relevant information is passed directly to the police.
