Putin and the hypersonic missile: Kremlin boss calls Avangard "the absolute weapon"
Like the giant empire and the USA, Russia is currently working on the development of hypersonic glide missiles.
Putin presented the Avangard type to the public in March 2018.
According to the Kremlin boss, this missile is "practically invulnerable" to Western air defense systems, and he considers it "the absolute weapon".
It went into operation at the end of 2019, is said to have a range of 4000 kilometers and can reach 20 times the speed of sound.
At the time, Putin stressed that he could not imagine that another country would have such a weapon in the coming years.
He may have reckoned without his own scientists.
