In Cheltenham, there are no big problems.
This city of 117,000 inhabitants known for its medicinal waters, its literary festivals and its horse races has only a few unemployed and homeless people.
The city center, with its pastel-colored Victorian facades and flowery parks, exudes opulence.
“Members of the local Conservative Party are especially concerned with the state of the roads, the preservation of green spaces and the graffiti that have started to appear in the city center”,
notes Stephan Fifield, a 29-year-old municipal elected official.

They are nearly 600 registered in the Tory party and, by September 5, they will vote for the next Prime Minister, alongside 200,000 other Conservative activists.
Special circumstance: the two candidates still in the running, Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss, were expected in Cheltenham for a debate this Wednesday evening.
