Wolfratshausen - Two animal missions called for the Wolfratshausen officials on Tuesday, August 9th.
A bird and a snake were taken to safety.
First, the officers were called to a construction site on Sauerlacher Strasse in the morning.
A parrot was found and captured, the police report said.
A small grey-white bird, presumably a budgerigar, was taken into "police custody" and handed over to the aviary in Geretsried.
An owner is not yet known.
Grass snake got lost
Towards evening, the officers were called again for help.
A resident found a snake 30 to 40 centimeters long in a blackbird nest in his garden.
"He wanted to get rid of the animal as thick as a thumb and therefore called the police," it says.
A police officer finally caught the snake, which turned out to be a grass snake.
The animal was then released a few kilometers away.
It is not known whether the snake, which can be easily recognized by the yellow crescent-shaped markings on the back of its head, was looking for a bird's meal or just retreated to a shady spot.
