"A bomb inside a prosthetic leg": a blow to the Taliban following a suicide attack against an important cleric Israel today

2022-08-11T16:32:56.022Z

ISIS claimed responsibility for a serious attack today in which the senior cleric Rahmoullah Haqqani, who has often come out against the affiliate of the jihadist organization in the country, ISIS-Khorsan, was killed • Haqqani is considered too moderate for ISIS due to his call for the inclusion of women in the education system

Sheikh Rahimullah Haqqani, a senior cleric in the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, the organization that took over the country about a year ago, was murdered on Thursday in an attack that was apparently aimed at him.

The attack took place inside an educational institution when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb planted inside a prosthetic leg he had assembled.

Haqqani is considered a staunch opponent of ISIS and has been targeted for assassination several times, most recently in 2020, among other things because he is in favor of less strict laws against women, including their inclusion in the education system comprehensively.

Although ISIS and the Taliban are considered extremist Sunni Islamic organizations, ISIS sees the Taliban as an ideological as well as a territorial rival for the "caliphates" in the region that they both established.

Several times in the past year, Daed has carried out serious attacks, with dozens of deaths, in order to undermine the government in the country in the past year and to prevent the Taliban from trying to establish its position after 20 years of American presence.

In addition, he often attacks Shiites and other factions in Islam that are not considered pure enough for him.

The elimination of Haqqani is one of the most "successful" eliminations of ISIS in the country against the Taliban." In an interview with the BBC, Haqqani said before his death that there is "no justification under Sharia to deny women education.

There is no justification for this."
