The Spanish health authorities announced the registration of ten cases of infection, including two deaths, in the city of Caceres.
And the Spanish newspaper Mundo quoted the city's health service as saying, "Two other positive cases were discovered in the past few hours, in addition to the seven previously reported cases, in addition to another positive case for the patient who was hospitalized after the onset of symptoms on the third of August."
The service indicated that most cases occur in the St. George area, where the patients lived or worked there. However, the authorities do not consider this an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease because there is no epidemiological link between the cases and there is no danger to the public health of citizens.
In turn, the Spanish Ministry of Health confirmed that the Rodeo Park fountain and public drinking water fountains in the city were closed for precautionary reasons.
Legionnaires' disease is one of the most severe forms of pneumonia, an infection caused by an infection, usually caused by bacteria known as Legionnaires', and most people get it by inhaling bacteria in water or soil.
