The quantities supplied of the sugar beet crop to Salhab sugar factory by farmers in the Al-Ghab area in Hama countryside amounted to about 45 thousand tons since the beginning of the supply operations to date.
The Director of Plant Wealth in the General Authority for the Management and Development of the Forest, Engineer Wafiq Zaroof, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the extraction and marketing operations are going well, as the quantities supplied to the company amount to about 2,000 tons per day, noting that the total area from which the sugar beet crop was harvested amounted to 1,088 hectares, while The average sweetness was 12.1 and the crime was 8.38.
Zaroof pointed out that most of the lands of the Al-Ghab area are suitable for growing the sugar beet crop, and we expect that the plan for the next season and the cultivated areas will be more than the current season.
It is noteworthy that the areas planted with sugar beet in the Al-Ghab region during the current season amounted to 1838 hectares.
