The ADAC warns again of a traffic jam weekend in Bavaria.
Some routes will be particularly busy – the public holiday also plays a role.
Munich – “This weekend, too, the avalanche of holidaymakers will roll towards home and cause a lot of traffic jams,” writes the ADAC in a statement on Monday, August 8th.
After all: The weekend should be a little quieter than the previous weekend.
Holidaymakers from Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein and the middle of the Netherlands are on their way home.
The holidays will end there soon.

The influx towards holiday areas is no longer as strong as it was over the past few weekends.
Above all, travelers from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are likely to go on vacation, as the third week of vacation is only beginning there.
In Bavaria, the Assumption Day holiday on Monday (August 15) could “lead to lively short-holiday traffic and an extended weekend trip,” the ADAC suspects.
Those who are flexible should drive during the week, according to the expert advice.
Slightly better travel days are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Traffic jam weekend in Bavaria?
ADAC informed - Longer waiting times at the border
Abroad, the wave of holidaymakers returning is also blocking the autobahns.
According to the ADAC, increased traffic is also to be expected along the Inntal, Tauern and Brenner autobahns due to the closure of alternative routes.
It also says: "Waiting times of 30 to 60 minutes should be planned at the borders of neighboring European countries, including at the Suben (A 3 Linz - Passau), Walserberg (A 8 Salzburg - Munich) and Kiefersfelden (A 93 Kufstein - Rosenheim).
It can take even longer for trips to Slovenia and Croatia, Greece and Turkey and back.”
