Former Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced today (Thursday) that he joins Shaul Elovitch's request and will also submit a request on his behalf to dismiss the charge in case 4000. Through his lawyer Boaz Ben Zur, Netanyahu is claiming "defense from justice".

However, Adv. Ben Tzur that there is still no evidentiary basis to submit a request on his behalf and more witnesses need to be heard.

As I recall, in a long and detailed document of about 200 pages yesterday, the defense attorneys of Shaul and Iris Elovitch submitted a request to the Jerusalem District Court to cancel their trial in case 4000 due to claims of protection from the tzaddik.

The defense attorneys wrote in the application that there were "severe flaws; a critical mass of horrifying and frightening failures" in the investigation process and the conduct of the trial.
