Today concluded the activities of the twelfth festival for people with disabilities, which was held by the branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in cooperation with the Suwayda City Council under the title of reassurance that I made my hand.
The activities of the last day of the festival included an entertainment honoring event for forty Syrian Special Olympics athletes in Sweida, who won championships in bocce, bowling, football, athletics, weightlifting and gymnastics, in addition to distributing volunteer documents and food baskets to the festival participants.
The head of the administrative committee of the branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in Sweida, Nizar Shuja, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the 12-day festival was an important station characterized by diversity in activities to serve the integration of people with disabilities in society, highlighting their energies and marketing their products.
For his part, the Syrian Special Olympics official in Sweida, Nizar Abu Ras, pointed out the importance of participating with the association in the festival in the context of support and entertainment for Special Olympics players in parallel with the sports activities they do in a way that adds an atmosphere of love and cooperation and the community knows them more.
The festival, which was launched on the thirtieth of last month, witnessed a shopping market for products of people with disabilities and their dependents and supporters, which included a variety of handicrafts and arts, and a book exhibition in cooperation with Dar Al Balad, in addition to a variety of daily artistic, sports, national, social, literary, heritage, voluntary and educational activities, especially for children, social awareness and self-sufficiency.
