An appeals process against one of the two main suspects in the right-wing extremist series of attacks in Berlin-Neukölln begins today (9:00 a.m.) in another trial.
The 39-year-old is said to have insulted and hit a taxi driver in the Steglitz district in November 2021.
In February 2022, the Tiergarten District Court sentenced the accused to one year and six months of imprisonment on probation.
In contrast, the Attorney General's Office has appealed, which had requested a prison sentence.
The Berlin district court is now examining the case.
The 39-year-old has become known as one of the main suspects in the case of the right-wing extremist attack series in Berlin-Neukölln.
The two suspects had been the focus of police for years.
It was not until August 2021 that the evidence was sufficient to bring charges in the case.
According to current plans, the trial against the two 35 and 39-year-old men from the right-wing extremist scene is scheduled to begin on August 29 in the Tiergarten district court.
