Cordless hedge trimmers: which one is the best?
Stiftung Warentest took a close look at 15 cordless hedge trimmers.
We introduce you to the favourites.
Note to our readers:
We create product comparisons and deals for you.
To make this possible, we receive a commission from partners.
This changes nothing for you.
They are light, quiet and powerful: cordless hedge trimmers with battery.
But is that true?
Not all models keep what they promise.
Now in late summer is a good time to trim the hedge again.
Milder temperatures prevent the cut from browning and all bird nests are now empty.
Of course, you can also cut your hedge in autumn.
A good time to, with a bit of luck, even buy a cordless hedge trimmer at off-season prices.
So that you invest your money well, we present five recommended models from the current test by Stiftung Warentest.
Cordless hedge trimmers: you should pay attention to this when buying
Cordless hedge trimmers consist of three important parts: the blade, the battery and the motor.
If the battery and motor are underperforming and the blades wear out quickly, cutting the hedge becomes a feat of strength.
In general, well-known brands are a good choice for cordless hedge trimmers.
For large plots of land or hedges, it makes sense to buy a second battery.
Also pay attention to the following:
The blade length should match the width of your hedge.
The blades of the sword should be sharpened on both sides.
A safety circuit and quick stop function are essential.
Pay attention to the cutting thickness.
The information in millimeters corresponds to the maximum branch thickness that can be cut.
The hedge trimmer should bear the GS mark (safety tested).
