Today, Daraa Electricity Company received a second batch of occupational safety and industrial security equipment provided by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Daraa, with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The General Director of Daraa Electricity Company, Eng. Hani Al-Masalma, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the equipment provided includes ladders, medium and low tension detectors, protective helmets for workers and workshops, safety shoes, boxes, and various others, stressing that the equipment is important in terms of compensating the shortage and protecting workshop workers from dangers while repairing various faults.
For his part, the head of the Electricity and Communication Workers Union in the Daraa Workers Union, Ziad Arar, indicated that the received equipment would provide protection and safety components for the workshops during their response to repairing faults, pointing out that the union and the Electricity Company, in cooperation with the Red Crescent branch, held workshops to train workers to use the equipment in a way that raises their efficiency during troubleshooting.
Arar pointed out that the safety of workers is a priority and calls for taking all measures and measures to reduce work injuries by securing and adhering to occupational safety and prevention equipment.
Daraa Electricity received the first installment last May.
