Filipino woman beaten by her Filipino boyfriend, hospitalized on the 11th

A 37-year-old Filipino woman was injured in a coma in the unit in a case of intentional wounding in Wan Chai on December 22 last year, and her death was extended to January this year. A 42-year-old Filipino man was arrested.

The police said today (11th) that the case will be reclassified as a murder case and will appear in court on October 10th.


According to sources, the arrested person and the deceased were both Filipino domestic helpers and held Hong Kong identity cards. The two met and started dating in September last year. They rented a flat in Wanchai last November and lived together while waiting for a new contract.

The incident happened on the evening of December 23 last year. Someone reported to a neighbor that the deceased had fallen in the toilet in the unit. The neighbor found that the deceased had injuries on his face and immediately called the police for help.

Police received a report at about 9:30 that night that a 37-year-old Filipino woman had fainted in a unit at 82 Stone Nullah Street, Wan Chai.

Police arrived at the scene and found the Filipino woman with facial injuries. She was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital in a coma for treatment. After investigation, the police arrested a 42-year-old Filipino man on the same day.

Sources said someone admitted to police that he beat the deceased while in the unit while intoxicated.

The female injured person was hospitalized until 7:00 am on January 2 this year and was confirmed dead. An autopsy found that the deceased had intracranial hemorrhage and brain damage.

After further investigation by the police, the case was reclassified as murder and will appear in the Eastern Magistrates' Court on the morning of October 10.

The case was followed up by the first team of Wan Chai District Crime Squad.
