For the victims of anxiety: Lapid and Lieberman will bring to the government's approval a plan to strengthen civil resilience Israel today

Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman will bring to the government's approval on the first day of the week a government decision to formulate a national plan to strengthen civil resilience.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Prime Minister's Office, it was stated that "the activity of the Resilience Centers has been proven to be significant for the citizens and is of great importance to the prosperity and flourishing of the Gaza Strip and the south, therefore it was decided that it is necessary to establish this."

The purpose of the decision is to provide a psychosocial response to the residents, for the purpose of strengthening the emergency preparedness of the local authorities and strengthening community resilience.

As part of the decision, it was determined that the budget for all the resilience centers will be concentrated in the Ministry of Health in 2023 as a first step, while examining the possibility of introducing the budget for all the resilience centers into the base of the budget in preparation for the approval of the state budget. 

According to the principles of the decision that will be submitted for approval: the resilience centers in the settlements surrounding Gaza, Ashkelon, Netivot, Judea and Samaria, the Eastern Galilee, the Western Galilee and the Bedouin center will continue to operate in 2023. The budget for the centers, in an aggregate amount of approximately NIS 26 million, will be transferred from the various government ministries.

The possibility of introducing the budget of all resilience centers into the budget base of the Ministry of Health will be examined.

The resilience centers will be operated according to the policy of the inter-ministerial steering committee led by the Ministry of Health, and a national plan will be formulated regarding the determination of the additional areas that will receive a response in the form of resilience centers.

Prime Minister Yair Lapid: "As we promised during the operation to the residents of the south - this government will not disappear for the residents of the Gaza Strip when the fighting ends, we will be with you the day after as well. This decision expresses the importance that we, as a government, see in strengthening the home front - and not only in times of crisis, and in view, The many ministers and ministries that joined the decision. We put in the forefront the strengthening of the civil resilience of the State of Israel, while placing emphasis on the mental health of victims and victims of anxiety as a result of the days of fighting."

Minister Lieberman added: "The economic, health and security stability of the residents of the Gaza Strip is a national task and we are working to provide assistance to the residents of the Strip and the region. We are succeeding in implementing the right policy in the Gaza Strip, which has led the settlements to be among the fastest growing settlements in the State of Israel. The civil resilience of the residents has A tremendous contribution to the success and prosperity of the region in particular and the State of Israel in general."
