The department added that applicants who have obtained Level 5 or above in English in the Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE), or Grade C or above in Use of English in the Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), or General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Grade C or above in the English Language subject will be accepted as equivalent to the second-level grades of the CRE paper.
In addition, Level 4 in DSE Chinese, or AL Chinese Language and Culture, Chinese Language and Literature, or Level D in Chinese Language will be accepted as equivalent to Level 1 in the CRE paper.
The next CRE and the Basic Law and Hong Kong National Security Law test will be held in Hong Kong on October 8 and 15 or other dates within October if necessary.
