The current heat wave, the third of the year, began on July 31.
And it does not stop warming France.
Eighteen departments, from the south-west to the tip of Brittany, are still this Thursday morning in orange vigilance, the alert level where the inhabitants must be "very vigilant".
The upper level, red, has not yet been activated as mid-July.

It is Friday which should be the hottest day of the episode on a national scale, with 35°C to 37°C over a western half of the country (as well as in the Rhône valley), up to 38 /39°C in the South-West (locally 40°C) and 35°C to 36°C from the Paris region to Lyonnais.

The maximums will remain of the same order on Saturday, with however a beginning of a drop by the Atlantic coast, before a stormy evolution expected on Sunday by the south-west which will be accompanied by a clear and general drop in temperatures.
Although this heatwave episode is less intense than those of last June and July, it is more durable on a national scale.
