Since 1989, the Besch house in Cannes has honored the great names of 20th century painting every summer.
The "pop art pope" Andy Warhol and his
Toy Paintings
will be the headliners in mid-August.
For this exceptional sale, two series of four acrylics and serigraphs, baptized
Monkey and Roll Over Mouse,
will be presented to lovers of contemporary art.
Signed and dated "Andy Warhol 83", they were composed with the help of the Beaubourg Gallery from eight unique works, some of which bear the label of the gallery of Warhol's Swiss friend and patron, Bruno Bischofberger.
Originally, the gallery owner commissioned Andy Warhol's

to illustrate a children's book.
