Salmannskirchen – Little Salmannskirchen in the municipality of Bockhorn has increasingly become the destination of young mothers, but also grandmothers and girlfriends.

The reason for this is the newly opened "ZwergZeug shop" by Franziska Lindner, in which she offers "Secondhand & Handmade for everything to do with children".

The 28-year-old owner works full-time as a project assistant at Munich Airport and is currently on maternity leave with her almost two-year-old daughter Marie.

With the support of her family, she has now realized her own project.

"The idea for the shop actually came from my mom," says Lindner, who is allowed to use her grandmother's empty apartment in her parents' house.

Her husband Andy was responsible for the naming.

For the trained craftsman, the analogy to tools was obvious - the "ZwergZeug shop" was born.

The boss has been busy with the planning since February, after all, information about the self-employment had to be obtained in advance from the tax consultant and the health insurance company.

The next step was to prepare the apartment. "Everyone helped, including my parents and my brother," says Lindner gratefully.

For the opening on June 1st, all the shelves were set up in the rooms with an inviting design. The first children's things naturally came from daughter Marie and a few friends.

Through notices and advertising on social media, numerous customers who wanted to come straight to the store got in touch.

In the meantime, Lindner cannot complain about the lack of response in her lovingly decorated shop.

In the second-hand department there are carefully sorted pieces of clothing for children from premature baby sizes 44 to 176, as well as shoes, toys, maternity wear, but also car seats and baby carriers.

The owner also offers nursing and bottle accessories for newborns, as well as nursing pillows and a sterilizer.

The quality of the second-hand goods is important to the young mother: "Everything is checked carefully when the goods are received so that no stains or holes are overlooked," she assures.

A positive effect of the used clothing is the sustainability, but also the low price compared to new goods.

Many of the more up-to-date items of clothing in the ZwergZeug shop are still unworn, and numerous branded items are also on offer.

Anyone can sell second-hand items at Lindner, she takes the goods on commission - anything that hasn't been sold after four months is returned or ends up in the robber's box.

The summer sale started recently, and winter goods will be accepted from September.

A continuously growing segment is the handmade department, in which handmade accessories and gifts for births or baptisms can be found.

"I myself make printed textiles, bags, cushions and candles, the knitted things come from my mum," explains the imaginative businesswoman.

In addition, the cupboard made by the great-grandfather himself houses handmade cards and baskets, baby blankets, spelled pillows, dummy chains, but also a large selection of sewn traditional skirts and dirndls - all works by creative small entrepreneurs from the region.

"I want everyone to be able to afford the things," emphasizes Lindner, who can bring her own experience as a young mother to the product selection.

Her latest idea: a Tonie exchange market.

If you don't want to hear his colorful radio play characters anymore,

Franziska Lindner enjoys her shop to the fullest and is happy about the positive feedback from her customers, who often come from word of mouth.

"I'm happy every day when they're happy," she says, beaming.
