Created on the initiative of the mayors or the inhabitants, these spaces where it is "compulsory" to kiss are located near unknown points of view of the country.

Venice, Verona, Rome... Italy can boast of being one of the most popular destinations for couples.

To capitalize on this reputation as a country of love, some cities have delimited in recent years spaces specially designed for them, materialized by a sign "

Zona romantica: obbligatorio biciarsi

" ("Romantic zone: obligatory kiss"), reports the daily.

La Republica

.

Objective: to encourage lovers to discover the most beautiful viewpoints in the country and offer them a movie set at the top of a cliff or a mountain.

Obviously, no fine is foreseen if the obligation is not respected.

It was the municipality of Sirmione (Lombardy), on the shores of Lake Garda, which first had the idea in 2009 of developing these spaces.

Other cities have since followed suit.

The medieval city of Trentinara in Campania has also installed a " Kiss Please

" sign on a gazebo

with the portraits of Saúl and Isabella, two local folklore characters nicknamed the "Romeo and Juliet of Cilento”.

The latest zone was created in early August in Anacapri, on the island of Capri, off Naples.

More precisely on the Belvedere del Sognatore (in French: the Belvedere of the Dreamer), a place accessible via a staircase dug in the rock located near the lighthouse of Punta Carena.

For the time being, less than a dozen zones have been created throughout the country, on the initiative of municipalities or the inhabitants themselves.

No site lists them yet.

But you don't need a dedicated space to declare your love.
