There was a fatal car accident on Fanling Highway three years ago. A KMB lost control and hit a tree. The upper deck of the bus was torn open and passengers were thrown out of the car. The incident resulted in 6 deaths and 38 injuries.
The estate administrator of one of the deceased filed a claim in the High Court yesterday (10th) against the driver and KMB.
The plaintiff was Wu Weibao, the administrator of the estate of the deceased Su Lixiong, and the defendants were Wen Zhiguang and Kowloon Bus (1933) Co., Ltd.
The complaint alleges that on December 18, 2019, Wen Zhiguang was in a car accident while driving a bus on Fanling Highway, and Su died as a result.
The complaint alleges that the incident was caused by the defendant's negligence and breach of duty of care, and a claim is made against the defendant.
The driver of the accident, Wen Zhiguang, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing serious injury. He was sentenced to four years in prison last year.
