The organizers of the music summer at the Walchensee power plant are satisfied after the second edition of the concert series.

This year, 30 percent more visitors came to the six events than at the premiere last year.

Kochel am See - "The second edition was better in many areas," says Sabine Pfister from "KleinKunst und Kultur" (KKK) in Lenggries.

Together with her husband Stefan and in cooperation with the power plant operator Uniper, she organizes the music summer.

The weather was definitely better this year.

"I think last year we only had one time without rain," says Sabine Pfister.

In addition, it was anything but warm.

This year, visitors were able to enjoy balmy summer evenings

But this year the weather held up as well as ever.

The audience enjoyed the mild evenings.

“Summer flair was palpable – just as we had wished for.” This year, however, we were prepared for the bad weather.

The energy company had bought more tents so that all listeners could have stayed dry if the worst came to the worst.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Bad Tölz newsletter.

A maximum of 300 listeners could be seated per concert

While only 200 listeners were allowed in the Corona summer of 2020, there was room for 300 this year. "Of course we knew that not all concerts would be sold out," says Pfister.

"But our approach isn't maximization either." Rather, as with the KKK program, the focus is on the fact that there is a good mix in the program, that artists are invited who may not attract the broad masses.

"We had a total of 30 percent more audience this year," says Pfister.

"I see that as a great success." Especially since you have to see that there was a wealth of cultural events this summer.

"It was extreme this year," says Pfister.

This is another reason why she is more than satisfied with the response.

Two of the six concerts were sold out

The start with singer-songwriter Claudia Koreck was already sold out.

The concert, the artist, the atmosphere in the audience, the weather - everything was "incredibly good", says Pfister.

"It was a sensational evening and a great start." Oimara Beni Hafner's performance was also sold out.

Here, however, advance sales only picked up significantly when the free concert that had been scheduled just a few days earlier on Blomberg had to be finally canceled due to rain.

After that, you noticed a significantly increased demand for the tickets, says Pfister - and a small criticism of the free competition that the city of Bad Tölz had created already resonates.

She is aware that she can always count on the support of Uniper during the music summer, so that in the end she does not have to bear the costs.

There will be a new edition next year

And the cooperation near the Kochelsee shore will be continued.

"There's a go for the new edition," says Sabine Pfister.

It is expected that 500 places will be offered in the coming year.

"And we hope for a further increase in spectators, also because we notice that the series of events is slowly establishing itself."

So far, she and her husband Stefan have not thought about the new program.

"That will come in the coming weeks," says Sabine Pfister.

Because the plan is definitely to go into advance sales for the third edition of the music summer at the Walchensee power plant before Christmas.
