Ex-US President Donald Trump is often praised on Russian state television.

There, a military expert close to the Kremlin campaigned for Russia's support for Trump.

Munich – Former US President Donald Trump has been making headlines again in the last few days.

The reason for this is an FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate in the US state of Florida.

But in Russia he also appears again and again in the reports - even without a raid.

He is usually showered with praise and presented as the better alternative to Joe Biden.

In the middle of the Ukraine war, a talk show on Russian state television “Rossiya-1” was again about Trump.

There he was presented as a sensible politician and even called a "friend".

The Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko, who is close to the Kremlin, even called for Russia to support the ex-US President.

The US journalist Julia Davis published the relevant scene from Russia's state broadcaster, including English subtitles, on Twitter.

Trump praise on Russian state television - "our friend Donald"

The show was moderated on Russian state TV by Duma deputy and journalist Evgeny Popov.

Trump began by describing the United States as a "developing country" and Biden as the "worst president in history."

He also said that Biden had done more damage to the United States than "the five worst presidents combined."

"Trump has not specified who these five presidents are and whether he is one of them," Popov said, adding directly, "But our friend Donald has made a clear decision not to join this group."

The Russian military expert Korotchenko also spoke after an excerpt from a speech by Trump and made a reference to Ukraine.

He described the country as a "cancer tumor in the center of Europe".

For example, "transgenders in vyshyvankas" - the national shirt of Ukraine - would march around and become the "symbol of modern Ukraine" in the eyes of the West.

"A society with such an orientation has no future," Korotchenko stated, while scenes from demonstrations of the LGBTQI community in Ukraine played in the background.

In this regard, the Russian military expert praised the “conservative values” that Trump is spreading.

He did not refer to him as "ex-president", but "president".
