Rottach-Egern – The Rosstag in Rottach-Egern returns to the calendar of events after the Corona break: with a new date, a new location and a new programme.

A two-year Corona break was used in Rottach-Egern to give the traditional Ross Day a fresh look.

Most important change: Instead of the end of August, the event will now take place on Sunday, September 11th - and at a new location.

What remains as usual are numerous horse teams and riders, who will also be parading through the village at the 51st edition of the horse festival, as Mayor Christian Köck and Daniel Merone from the Rottach-Egern Mountain Rescue Service recently announced during a conversation.

From 12 p.m. it goes from Kobellstrasse via Seestrasse and Hauptstrasse through the village to the fairground.

As in previous years, the team of moderators Bruno Six and Florian Maier will also accompany the parade from the tower and briefly introduce teams and riders on Seestraße opposite the spa complex, as well as on Dr.-Mohr-Straße.

However, there is no show driving.

This time, riders, coachmen and more than 200 decorated steeds meet at a specially prepared fairground at Gsotthaber Hof on Feldstrasse.

Therefore, the procession does not pass directly by the Rosskapelle, but horses, coachmen and riders are blessed at an open altar at the level of the "Zum Dersch" farm, not far from the Rosskapelle.

The paddock will be set up on the Oswaldwiese behind the Voitlhof.

Rosstag pins for Bergwacht am Tegernsee

Furthermore, the Ross Day will always take place on the second Sunday in September in the future because the weather is more stable there, the mayor explained.

There will also be no more postponements in the future.

From 4 p.m. the band “Smile” will play on the fairground.

To get there without much hassle, there will be a free shuttle bus from 10am to 7pm.

It starts at the post office and goes to Feldstrasse and back.

Part of the proceeds from the event will benefit the mountain rescue service.

According to Daniel Merone, the purchase of the Rosstag pin supports the mountain rescue service in the Tegernsee valley.

There will also be a Sunday open for shopping on Rosstag.

Those shops that are located along the route of the pageant can then open.

The municipal councils recently decided unanimously on this.
