Mobile phone reception should be available everywhere in the Ebersberg forest in the future.

That's what the state foresters promise.

In two years it should be so far.

District

– Michael Waldherr from the Bavarian State Forests announced mobile phone reception at a press conference in the forest.

Time frame: two years.

Several transmission towers are planned.

This also improves the availability of rescue services in the event of an accident.

"The locations already exist, the network coverage will come," says Waldherr.

This also fits in with another project: modern communication technology, internet and QR code, enjoyment of nature and a feel for the forest as well as the communication of traditional values: today these definitely belong together, at least when it comes to a project in the forest – if then the mobile phone reception in the forest is working.

The project is also intended to be multi-generational.

Participants are currently being sought.

Bike tours are further developed in the media

A new, updated leisure map for the Ebersberg Forest was presented in July.

New are two bike tours, each around 23 kilometers long, which are also well suited for families.

They are now to be further developed in the media.

The project was presented at the Seegrassstadl next to the Forsthaus Hubertus.

Along the two bike paths, which can also be used as hiking routes with shortcuts, there are a number of distinctive points with interesting stories.

Examples are the Nonnenstein or the Diana forest house.

In a media workshop on October 15th and 16th, those interested can film their own impressions of these points and implement them creatively.

A cross-generational group of 15 people aged 14 and over is planned.

QR codes on information boards lead to exciting films

The results of these sequences are to be published on the Internet after the project has been completed, so they can be downloaded before a bike tour.

In the medium term, information boards should provide information at the respective locations.

Using a QR code, the information and the resulting films can then be loaded onto the smartphone directly on site.

In another project with a school class, an interactive scavenger hunt for the forest is to be developed, called "Actionbound" in modern German, with the help of smartphones and tablets.

Overall, the projects are intended to create special excursion and recreational opportunities in order to get to know the forest better.

"This is only possible with volunteers," said Augustinus Meusel from the district office.
