Two men and two women were caught with fake French passports at the border control in Buenos Aires • The suspects were on their way to Amsterdam

Four Iraqis with fake passports were arrested at Aziza International Airport in Buenos Aires and handed over for questioning by authorities on Wednesday.

The group that consisted of two women and two men arrived from Brazil and were delayed for minutes as they planned to board a plane of the Dutch airline KLM with a final destination in Amsterdam.

However, the authorities believe that the four intended to go to Paris in light of the fact that the fake passports in their possession were from France.

The real country of origin of the four is not yet clear to the authorities, but they said that the information about the suspects was received after an alert reached the National Office of Immigration of Argentina.

Their names were also published: Suzan Addo, Masoud Fadi, Salma Al Salem and Saad Kolo.

The investigation is underway and takes place two months after the state authorities arrested a Venezuelan-Iranian plane with 19 crew members, among them 14 Venezuelans and five Iranians, including the pilot who was a lieutenant colonel in the Revolutionary Guards.

Judge Federico Villaina, who is responsible for both cases, recently allowed the release of 11 Venezuelans and one Iranian citizen.

However, the rest of the crew remained detained and the Boeing 747 was confiscated until the end of the proceedings.
