Annika Weishaupt was the 16th judge to come to the Erding district court.

She has seven male colleagues.

Erding – Annika Weishaupt is the name of the new judge at the Erding district court.

The 25-year-old is fresh from the Second State Examination, which she passed in Memmingen, Kempten and Augsburg.

The Allgäu native studied in Augsburg, specializing in biomedicine and health law.

In Erding she will now start in civil law.

"It's not bad for your first professional experience," says Ingrid Kaps, director of the district court in Erding.

“It will definitely be interesting,” believes Weishaupt himself. “Especially with the airport as a special subject.

That's something completely different that doesn't happen in the training at all."

District Court of Erding: Special Matters Airport

The district court repeatedly feels the "special matter of the airport".

In 2021, Erdinger had to deal with 6790 passenger rights procedures.

And the director expects a large number of procedures in the near future: "If we look at what was going on at the airport during Corona - massive delays, lost luggage and so on - then we have enough work to do."

Unlike in other companies, the "corona hole" is only now being felt at the district court - because of the lead time until a matter actually comes to court.

"But it's also nice that after ten years in which we were massively above the national average, we can catch our breath a bit," says Kaps.

Everyone deserves to be able to work in peace.

The Corona hole can be seen in the numbers: around two thirds of the procedures last year will probably be achieved this year.

With Weishaupt, the 16th judge (besides seven judges) comes to Erding.

In general, according to Kaps, more women than men apply to the judiciary.

There are easier ways to work part-time.

Weishaupt was in Erding for the first time in June.

Now the young judge is looking forward to exploring the city a bit.
