The Ministry of Communications and Technology continues to implement the 11 projects of the digital transformation strategy for government services that were approved this year, and the relevant ministries are implementing them according to the Director of Digital Transformation in the Ministry, Dr. Muhammad Muhammad.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Muhammad, that the cloud computing expansion project is one of the strategic projects that constitutes the infrastructure to host all government services, as it was announced and contracted, in addition to 4 projects related to the development of national information banks, which are the automation of “industrial, commercial, health and tax” records.
Muhammad indicated that the industrial registry project, which was approved by the digital transformation advisory team, will be announced soon, while work continues on the commercial registry project, for which the data entry rate has reached 80 percent. the study.
Mohammed pointed out that the projects of the digital transformation strategy for government services also include the classification of four electronic portals and applications, two of which are for the Ministry of Transport, “electronic permit for transporting goods” and “commercial vehicle operations management,” as they were contracted, in addition to preparing for the “Government Procurement Portal” project. To organize government contracting operations in a central electronic manner. The other project is related to the Syrian Investment Authority “Investors Portal”, which provides all services related to investors, where the stage of describing job requirements in coordination with various authorities has been completed.
Muhammad pointed out that the Ministry of Administrative Development is working in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Technology to implement two digital transformation projects, one of which is concerned with training and qualifying digital transformation teams to enable them to keep pace with modern technology and deal with its advanced technologies quickly, and the other is related to motivating these resources to preserve them and invest their energies to build a digital Syria. .
It is noteworthy that the goal of the digital transformation strategy is to coordinate between ministries to provide a digital infrastructure that enables the provision of integrated services to raise the efficiency of government work, especially with the spread of various possibilities for electronic payment. The transition phase for interactive services from 2023 to 2027, followed by the digital transformation phase from 2027 to 2030.
