The Observatory said today (11th) that the tropical depression "Mulan" has weakened into an area of low pressure over inland northern Vietnam, and its associated outer rainbands continue to affect the coast of Guangdong.
In addition, at 12 noon today, a tropical depression in the northwestern Pacific Ocean gathered about 820 kilometers south-southwest of Tokyo, and is expected to move north or north-northwestward at a speed of about 14 kilometers per hour, moving toward the area of Honshu, Japan.
In terms of weather in Hong Kong, the Observatory forecasts that it will be mostly cloudy today with showers and a few squally thunderstorms. The rain may be heavier at the beginning, and the wind will be moderate to a fresh southeasterly.
In the past hour up to 11:30, Tuen Mun and Lantau Island received the heaviest rainfall, with 30 millimetres of rainfall per hour in some locations.
