The weather in Hong Kong has been unstable recently. The Observatory issued a special weather warning this morning (11th), stating that the thunderstorm area will continue to develop in the Pearl River Estuary and the area south of Hong Kong, and will bring heavy showers to Hong Kong in the next hour or two.
The Observatory later pointed out that strong gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour or more are expected to hit Hong Kong, reminding the public that if they are outdoors, they should seek shelter in a safe place as soon as possible.

The Observatory issued a special weather alert at about 11:00 a.m., stating that at 10:50 a.m., strong gusts of about 80 kilometers per hour were recorded at Green Island, and several squally thunderstorms were expected in Hong Kong, with strong winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour or more. The Observatory also predicted that the weather in Hong Kong will be mostly cloudy today with showers and a few squally thunderstorms.

According to the latest radar map data of the Observatory, the area around Lantau and Tuen Mun is currently most affected by thunderstorms, with rainfall expected to reach 30 to 50 mm per hour in some areas.
