Vélizy-Villacoublay: he kills his wife and denounces himself by calling the Samu

The call to Samu turned into a macabre discovery.

A woman was found dead this Thursday in her apartment in Vélizy-Villacoublay (Yvelines), after her husband called the emergency services to denounce himself and threaten to commit suicide, around 10:45 a.m.

Arrived on the scene, the Samu discovered the victim of about forty years unconscious, the body bearing the traces of several blows with a knife.

She was pronounced dead within minutes.

The police, also dispatched to the scene, arrested the individual and took him into custody.

Himself injured in the throat and arm, he was taken to hospital, according to AFP.

According to the Versailles prosecutor's office, the victim and the suspect are both 42 years old.

An autopsy should be performed to determine the exact circumstances leading to death and the time of death.

More than a hundred feminicides in France each year

An investigation was opened for "spouse murder" and entrusted to the Versailles police station.

According to the collective "Féminicides by companions or ex", 113 victims would have been recorded in France in 2021. They would be more than 70 since the beginning of the year.
