The actress Anne Haish, who has been hospitalized since last weekend in critical condition after she was trapped in her burning car when it crashed into a private house, is being investigated by the police on the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol despite being in a coma.
"Ann is suffering from a lung injury that requires resuscitation and burns that require surgical intervention," a representative of the 53-year-old Haish told the Deadline website.
Although it was initially reported that her condition was serious but stable, the same source wanted to emphasize that the actress is in a critical condition and in a coma and has not regained consciousness since the accident.
Now, as mentioned, officials at the Los Angeles Police Department have decided to take a step forward in the investigation of the accident, with the decision being based on evidence indicating that Hayesh was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the accident.
Sources involved in the investigation confirm that even though the actress is in a coma, the police received approval for an order that allows them to take a sample from her for the purpose of the investigation to examine whether she was indeed under the influence of prohibited substances, raising the severity of the investigation to the offense of drunk driving.

According to the reports of the gossip site TMZ, according to the results of the investigation and from the assumption that it will be proven that Hayesh was indeed driving under the influence of prohibited substances, the case will be transferred to the district attorney in order to file a lawsuit against her for a hit-and-run accident.
As you may remember, last Friday Hayesh crashed into a house in the Mar Vista neighborhood and was later admitted to a hospital in critical condition suffering from severe burns, after her car caught fire and it took more than an hour and dozens of firefighters to successfully rescue her from the inferno.
After the accident, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that the vehicle driven by Haish traveled at a very high speed, lost control and crashed into a residence.
In the photo that was later distributed on entertainment websites and was apparently taken shortly before the accident, Hayesh is seen sitting in the driver's seat with what appears to be a partially drunk bottle of vodka next to her, which strengthened the assumption that she was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Haish caused a lot of damage to the private house where she collided, and on the Deadline website it was reported that the woman who lives in the house that burned completely in the accident, Lynn Michel, "miraculously escaped physical injuries at the last minute but lost all her possessions", which led to the opening of a crowdfunding campaign for her on the GoFundMe website.
