8 people suspected of food poisoning after eating charcoal Bomber Salad sandwich, one sent to hospital

The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health is today (12th) investigating two suspected food poisoning cases involving a total of eight persons who developed abdominal pain, diarrhoea, fever, nausea and vomiting after eating chicken sandwiches or smoked salmon sandwiches at Bomber Salad in Fo Tan. One person had to be admitted to the hospital, and all patients were in stable condition.

Eat Chicken Sandwich or Smoked Salmon Sandwich Takeaway

The CHP is investigating two suspected food poisoning cases, the first involving a man and two women, aged between 15 and 52.

They ate chicken sandwiches or smoked salmon sandwiches from Fotan Bomber Salad on August 5 and developed abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, nausea and vomiting about 20 hours later.

The second case involved two men and three women, aged between 26 and 54.

They ate takeaway food from the same restaurant on August 8 and developed similar symptoms about 18 hours and 30 minutes later.

The CHP said all the affected people have sought medical attention, and one of them has to be admitted to hospital. All patients are in stable condition.

The CFS urges the public to maintain personal, food and environmental hygiene to prevent food-borne diseases.

Members of the public are reminded to avoid eating raw seafood and choose cold dishes carefully.

18 people were suspected of food poisoning after eating takeaways from Saigon Juyou Inn. They ate curry fish balls, pork skin and fried siu mai. 32 people ate Kama Delivery. Poisoning revealed that the supplier of inedible mushrooms had sold them in bulk and must be removed from the shelves
