Britain officially declared today (emergency and a state of drought) in many parts of the country due to the severe heat wave it is exposed to.
And Reuters quoted the British Environment Agency as saying in a statement: “Parts of southern, central and eastern England are officially in a state of drought, which means that water companies will intensify their efforts to deal with the consequences of dry weather on farmers and the environment.”
And earlier today, the British company (Yorkshire Water) announced that the ban on the use of water hoses to irrigate gardens, wash cars or fill swimming pools will start on the 26th of this month.
Thames Water, which supplies water to 15 million people across London, said it also plans to introduce restrictions.
Large parts of Europe faced weeks of sweltering temperatures that sparked large forest fires and lowered water levels in many rivers.
Experts point out that the regions of Europe and its infrastructure are not qualified for such a wave of extreme heat.
