On the Wessobrunner Weg in Wielenbach there is a large construction project along the Weilheim-Augsburg railway line.

An entrepreneur wants to build 18 terraced houses there (we reported).

The project worries residents Siegfried Schwaiger and his neighbors in three ways.

Wielenbach

– The approximately 100 meter long Wessobrunner Weg is a cul-de-sac that leads to a footpath.

This path leads through a narrow underpass under the railway line (built to drive cattle to the western pastures) onto the farm track that accompanies the railway line to the west.

According to Schwaiger, the road, which is only used by residents as a cul-de-sac, has not been developed for heavy traffic.

It is a gravel path that was paved a long time ago with spray tar, which is sufficient for the local residents.

According to Schwaiger, the construction site traffic with its heavy trucks will cause considerable damage to the road to the chagrin of the residents.

Schwaiger sees another problem underground.

Since the site is in the silted-up area of Lake Ammer, the ground is boggy and the groundwater is very high.

If a complex soil replacement is carried out during the construction work and the groundwater is lowered for this purpose, the neighboring properties could give way.

This could endanger the older homes of residents whose foundations are not designed to withstand such loads.

Mayor: Damage will be repaired

The third problem is the traffic to be expected from the residents of the 18 terraced houses.

This would be routed through the Wessobrunner Weg, since the possible northern exit from the area is not possible because the area there on the well-developed Raistinger Straße is reserved for the construction of a kindergarten.

Due to the limited number of parking spaces at the houses, Schwaiger expects that Wessobrunner Weg could be blocked by visitors.

Schwaiger thinks that it would make more sense to handle construction site traffic via Raistinger Strasse and also connect the access to the terraced houses there.

There are better places in Wielenbach for the kindergarten, for example next to the new town hall or where the workaround is now.

When asked, Mayor Harald Mansi said that damage to the road caused by construction site traffic would have to be repaired.

He advises residents to document the condition of their houses to preserve evidence, so that the occurrence of damage can be proven.
